Question about Rune Trader
How is the value of the rune determined? Is it by demand? For example, my minor Warrior Absorption sell value was 350 but my major Mesmer Fast Casting is only 25. What's up with that? It's always at 25.

Yes it is by demand. The trader only sells what ppl have sold to it. If inventory is low the price will go up.

I think it is a supply and demand that sets the price. Minors are in higher demand because of the lack of a negetive effect.

I had a problem with the rune trader buying a rune from me last night. I tried to sell it a rune of minor absorption. I kept getting a message to the effect that the trader won't buy that item from me. It was one that I'd unlocked.
Anyone else have that problem? |

i heard from someone in Lion's Arch last night that has the problem.. he said that rune was from before the update that changed the rune appearance. However, I sold one of those runes to the trader with no problem so I don't know what's wrong. Maybe the stats changed on some of them like the collector items.

Hmmm, the trader can run out of a certain rune, I wonder if they can also get too many of a certain rune and tell you to bugger off?

The one in Lion's Arch is where the merchants are. It's already been stated where the one in Ascalon City is. I haven't checked anywhere else yet.

The Rune trader has unlimited supplies of all runes.
After the patch went through last night, it starts most superior runes at 10-15 plats, then dynamically adjusts all prices by buy/sell activities. Two hours after patch, selling price is 20K for superior healing and 7K for superior smite. I sold most of my sup runes in the beginning, and glad to see the npc selling price was already lower at that time. I bought a sup sword and sup healing at 15P, and hope npc buying price will be higher than that when I go home tonight. |
